Opening Day is this Saturday and we’re excited about the official start of another exciting season of baseball.
If you had indicated in the past that you would be willing and able to help out for 30 minutes to an hour on opening day please contact Tracy Doren at firstname.lastname@example.org for more information. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
We need people to man the silent auction table and sell raffle tickets and programs.
Also, due to a scheduling error, the coin van will not be available on Opening Day. We will plan to have it stop by the field in a few weeks.
If you haven’t already registered for the 2015 season, now is the time to do so. You can register by going to our website (www.chandleramerican.com) or by clicking this link: https://www2.jevin.net/goto/Tb.go
Tryouts for the Minors and Majors divisions will take place this week. The purpose of tryouts is for the coaches to assess the abilities of the Minors and Majors players so that they can then attempt to create competitive balance among the teams for the 2015 season. All players who intend to play in these divisions are required to tryout.
All tryouts will take place at Nozomi Park (behind the aquatic center on Kyrene/Frye).
The first tryout will be held Wednesday, February 11th, starting at 6:00pm. All players are required to show up 30 minutes early to check in and warm up so that we are ready to begin promptly at 6pm.
The makeup tryout will be held on Saturday, February 14th starting at 9:30am. Again, please show up 30 minutes early.
All 8 year olds who would like a chance to play in Minors are required to tryout. Any 8 year old who does not try out will be placed in the Farm division.
All 10 year olds who would like a chance to play in Majors are also required to be assessed. Any 10 year old who does not try out will be placed in Minors division.
Just as a reminder, there is another on-site registration for Spring Little League at Sports Authority tomorrow (1/28) from 6-8pm. The Sports Authority is located just south of Chandler Fashion Center.
This is a great opportunity to meet board members and ask questions about the upcoming season. Remember, tryouts are closing in on us fast so if you haven’t registered but intend to to do so, now is the time. You can also register right now by clicking on this link: https://www2.jevin.net/goto/Tb.go
Little League tryouts are only a few weeks away! If your child intends to play in either Minor or Majors division this season then he or she needs to attend a tryout. Tryouts will take place the first week of February (more information to follow) and will allow the coaches to assess your child’s talent so that they are able to create a competitive balance in our league.
If you haven’t registered already you can do so by clicking this link (https://www2.jevin.net/goto/Tb.go).
Chandler American Little League has always been a great place for your child to learn and develop his/her baseball skills in a fun, supportive environment but many people don’t realize how much each player gets with his registration fees (especially compared with similar leagues/club teams around the Valley).
Each player is provided with the following:
A full uniform including a jersey, hat, belt, socks and pants.
A full month of practice (minimum twice a week) on reserved fields.
Dedicated coaches and assistants who have volunteered hours of their time to help develop each player.
16-20 games (plus playoffs in Farm, Minors and Majors divisions).
Free Team Pictures and Individual Pictures (with the option to purchase more if desired).
Participation trophies for Tball and Farm players.
Tournament trophies for Farm, Minors and Majors.
All of this is included in registration fees which are $80 for Tball and Farm and $130 for Minors and Majors. A family cap is set at $250.
Shopping for a bat this holiday season and want to make sure it is approved for use in Little League? Then please see the information below:
The following is a list of bats with a 2 1/4 inch maximum diameter that are currently licensed for use in the baseball divisions of Little League (Majors Division and below).
This list includes bats currently licensed with Little League as of November 4, 2014.
This list includes all licensed models organized by manufacturer, including those composite barrel bats that have received a waiver from the composite-barreled bat moratorium. Little League placed a moratorium on all composite-barreled baseball bats for these divisions, which took effect on Dec. 30, 2010. A list of those composite-barreled bats that have received a waiver of that moratorium is available at:http://www.littleleague.org/…/equ…/licensedcompositebats.htm Continue reading
